Bandai Saint Seiya Saint Cloth Myth Phakda Thor Review

Phakda Tho picture

Most people all over the world remember saint seiya with a lot of love and just passion for the series, but as time goes by, people have been collecting there favorite characters of the saint seiya universe. One figure that stands out of the crowed is Phedca Gamma Thor. This figure is the most looked for all over the world and one of the most wanted figures of the Asgard saga. But what makes this figure so special? Well my friends, all I have to say is… a lot makes it special. Let’s review this figure and see why people love this figure.

The first thing you will notice is the size of the box, it is almost 3 times as big as a normal myth cloth figure, and like 3 inches wider than the Gemini Cloth box. The box has the standard Asgard saga colors and in the front we can see the figure shot itself, the animated form of the figure, and the constellation star. On the side we see the picture of the object mode and on the top it says “Saint Cloth Myth” and on the bottom it says “Gamma Robe”. On the back we see the figure in many poses, doing signature moves, and the figure with and without the helmet. You can also see the object mode which is great. When you open the book style package you see inside a standard 2 sided window package and in one side we see the Figure and on the right you see the object mode skeleton and stuff like that. On the top on the trims it says God Warrior, and on the Bottom it says Thor. So let’s open this figures package and see the contents inside.

When you open the package you see on each side we have 2 plates. On the left side we have the figure itself, which is on his knees and still surpasses the size of a normal myth cloth, and on the Right side we have the cloth parts and the skeleton of the object mode. On the left we have some parts of the cloth but the parts are so big that they not all fit on the plate. On the second plate we can see the shield and any other accessories the figure has. On the other side on the back we see the axes which are super big and we see the standard accessories of the figure, a little jewel and a holder for the bases.

As I was building the object mode, I could tell most of the parts were supper heavy. The object mode itself is a massive cobra and the object mode looks stunning. The only thing I did have a problem is to keep it balanced, as a lot of the parts were falling apart when I was putting him together; it is a bit of a challenge to make the object mode as well. Also the instructions of the object mode are a bit confusing. If you don’t read Japanese, you will have a hard time finding what parts goes were as a lot of the parts look different and the location of the parts are exact, but still is a bit of a challenge to find the location. But overall this object mode is great; the object mode gets a 9/10.

Then when I was building the figure I was just in awe. This figure is massive, measuring an outstanding 11 inches tall, almost as tall as a Saint Cloth Crown. The figure parts are massive, big, heavy, and the figure looks slim as well. Well his not super slim but the proportions are in scale. The figure towers over the biggest gold saint Taurus by a landslide and the figure just looks Amazing. The parts fit to perfection and the figure looks great, but because of the amount of weight this figure has, you will have some weight issues but if you keep him on a sweet spot, he will balance just fine. He has many accessories and his hands are massive, but one thing that I did notice is that they drilled a hole on the fist hands of the figure for him to hold his axes. This feature is great, but why could they not give us a figure with just closed fists? This is just a no brainer to me, as some people do not display them with their accessories in fear of losing them, but because of this, the figure looks very weird and the axes in my opinion have to go in the holes for the figure to not look strange. The figure itself has a plastic helmet along with the waist, and the rest of this figure is die cast metal.

This figure in my opinion is a very well made figure, and it’s going to be your main attraction when people see your collection. With minor stability issues and some wrong decisions by Bandai, this figure still gets a 9/10. The figure is great and it’s going to look fantastic with any collection. Still for the price that is been running, you really have to love the figure for you to spend that kind of cash on him. Still the figure is fantastic and you should give it a try as well. As you were reading this review you have seen some pictures of the figure and you will not be disappointed on your buy. If you can find it original price, it is a well worth investment.
