One of my favorite characters has to be Gemini Saga and Kanon. They have been the moving force on the saint seiya universe and the reason there are so many plots on the story. As we hit the Poseidon Saga, they introduced to Sea Dragon Kanon, and man he did not disappoint. Like his brother, he has his own motives, but in all honesty a lot of us when we were little didn’t even know about kanon that much. We wondered because Gemini means twins but then it was confirmed in this saga. And now let’s see the figure and see how this figure turned out.

Sea Dragon Kanon SHOW

First and foremost we see the box, as this is a Poseidon saga figure and cause his a General of the sea we see that his box is a marine green. On the front of the box we see it has Sea Dragon Kanon without his helmet but with armor and on the side we see the animated form of the figure but with the helmet. On the side of the box we see that it’s a book style kind of package and it says “Saint Cloth Myth” and on the bottom it says “Sea Dragon Scale” and in the middle we see it has a picture of the object mode on the Sea Dragon. On the back they show you the figure with and without the helmet, the figure doing the golden triangle power and pictures of the object mode. When you open the box you see a standard window box for saint seiya with the sides that say General and on the bottom it says Kanon. The box is great, now it’s time to see the package inside.

As we open the box we have the left side which I call plate A, and the right side which I call plate B. On side A we got most of the figure and most of the cloth parts, we have 5 sets of hands and the figure itself. We also have the instructions and the blue cap on this side for the figure. On side B, if you didn’t know, on this figure you get 2 figures, one with a half black head and the other with prison clothing. On plate B you get the second figure, the clothing, the skeleton for the object mode and some parts like the chest or the skirt for the figure. In the instructions you can see that there is a lot of big parts for this figure, the figure itself it’s not hard to make but the object mode has a bit of instructions but not hard to follow. It also shows you how to put the clothing on the second figure and the knee caps. So now that we are done with the package let’s review the object mode.

When I was doing the object mode there were a lot of things I was not sure about, cause the instructions don’t explain in full detail what you should be doing. But having years of making saint seiya I could figure it out really easy. There are a lot a lot of chunky parts on the object mode and it’s not hard to do. A lot of the body is made up of one solid plastic chrome part but the rest is composed of the cloth. You use most of the cloth to do the object mode which is a great thing in my eyes. Picking it up I would say it’s a very solid figure, a bit heavy due to a lot of die cast metal parts. The engineering of the figure its great and the figure looks out of this world. The great color it has with the 3 shades of gold it has makes it a great object mode. Some people may not agree but on object mode wise I give this a solid 9. It is a well-made object mode and it well deserves the rating. And now we go to the 2 figures.

As we look at both figures we see the main figure has a solid half black face with no hair. This is intended to just put the helmet over him and hide his eyes which are a nice touch by Bandai. The second figure has the solid figure with his hair, a blue body with laced feet, and no die cast metal on the feel and bandaged fists, meaning this is what Kanon is wearing when he is in prison with no armor. So let’s review the figure with the blue body. Overall the representation they were trying to do there is great. The figure is very show accurate and the clothing fits like a glove. The figure has great set of motion and very nice articulation. The bad part is that because he has no die cast metal feet, he has weight issues on the head. The head has a lot of hair and it’s hard to balance, but once you have him on a position it’s great. Now to see the main figure! Now the main figure is amazing, the cloth has great color and the helmet looks great on half black and half human like the anime. The parts of the arms and waist fit great and the legs are no exception. But there are 2 major flaws for this figure. First is that the chest part and the skirt are all connected together, but why do I say it’s bad, well the chest is very loose on the figure and moves a lot. You grab the figure from the chest and the whole figure moves. It is not as tight as other figures so you have to be careful. Second is the hair, when you are seeing the figure on armor mode with all his cloth together on the anime you see he has long hair on the back. Well you try to put the hair on the back and the figure has a hard time sustaining it. The hair does not stay or displaces the head. That is one major flaw show accurate collectors will not pass on, but on sculpture wise and this entire figure is great.

For this figure the sculpture and figure design is great, one major flaw I saw is that they did the armor 2 big for the figure, and the hair is a major problem for a lot of collectors. The extra figure is a nice touch and kind of makes it up for the lack or problems this figure has. Buying this figure you get 2 for the price of one, and you can’t beat that. Overall this figure gets a solid 9. If they would have addressed the looseness of the figures cloth, it would have been a perfect 10. The sculpture and detail is great, cloth is made to perfection, too bad it’s very loose. But do I recommend this product? Absolutely! If you’re a saint seiya fan and love this cloth this is a definite pick up. If you are just staring collection, I really don’t recommend this figure only if you have a lot of love for the character. Saint Seiya is a great line on myth cloth, but if you can pass this imperfection, you will enjoy this figure.

Thanks to Ishop2go for letting me review this figure and remember… GO OUT AND BUY IT!!!
