One of the most loved characters in Female and Male Fans alike is the grand character that its Andromeda Shun. From the excellent beauty of the character, to the amount of conflict this character brings to the series is just phenomenal. Some fans may say that this character is weak in many areas but none the less this character also brings a great amount of story to the story. Without this character the whole hades chapter would not have happened on the series. But as a great character that it is, a lot of people wanted a perfect representation of the character in the Myth cloth line and that’s what Bandai has done today. Today we are going to look at one of Bandai’s greatest masterpieces in the year 2010 and that’s Andromeda Shun Version 1.

As we look at the box we can see the great picture of the characters figure in the front, a shot of the object mode, and the zodiac sign of Andromeda in the background. No animated picture what so ever in the box. This box as always is a book style kind of package and on the side it says “Saint Cloth Myth” and on the bottom it says “Andromeda Cloth” and with a zodiac sign on the middle. On the back of the box it shows you the figure with and without the helmet and how you can pose him in many positions. It also has the shot of the figure doing a nebula chain which is one of his signature moves. And a shot of the object mode is great on the back as well. On the inside of the box there is no wording on the trims of the box, the figure has two sided window package and that is all there is too it. Now let’s look at the package inside.

The inside of the box is very plane. We have on the left side the figure itself with most of his cloth and hands. On the right side we have 2 plates, one with the skeleton and a bit more parts for the object mode, and on the bottom we have more chains that can be posed with the figure. This figure has 2 sets of arm pieces, one with chains and one without them. That is a great touch by Bandai. But let’s look at the object mode really quick. As the object mode is concerned, the figure is great in every way. The object mode is very stable and it’s not very hard to do. You get a separate loose chain to put on the figure for you can wrap the chain on it. It is a very nice touch they did there. Overall the object mode goes around 4 inches fully assembled. Overall it’s a great piece. Now let’s move to the figure.

The figure itself now its just a masterpiece, the face sculpt is great and it looks the same as the character in the Anime. The color of the cloth is perfect to the T, and the chains that come with the figure are made to perfection. The chains attached to the arms are die cast metal, and the arms, chest, legs, and shoulders are die cast metal as well. The helmet, waist, hands and body is plastic which means most of this cloth is die cast metal. Overall this figure gets a perfect 10. The sculpt is great, figure is great, and the articulation on the figure is fantastic. The figure can stand by itself and does not have a lot of weight issues due to the light weight of the cloth. Overall if you are a hardcore Andromeda fan this is a must have for you.

The overall feel to this cloth is great, as a figure, it’s a must buy. Refer to the pictures for you to see the beauty of this cloth and you will agree this is a must have in your collection. Saint Seiya characters have been the most memorable characters to my childhood. One character that I remember with all his glory is Ikki phoenix when he shows up and takes the Sagittarius cloth from the tournament. It was one of the most special moments of that series in the beginning cause even though he was evil, a lot of people liked the character. And the fact that he was the brother of Shun well that made it one character of the ages.

As we look at the box, you can see this is a standard Saint Seiya box with the exception that the figure is on the front, and the object mode as well, with no animated form on the background only a phoenix star constellation. We see the Bandai logo on the corner and the toei sticker of the specific region in the front as well. This is a book style kind of package and on the side it says “Saint Cloth Myth” and on the bottom it says “Phoenix Cloth” with a simple of the phoenix in the middle. On the back of the box we have the figure doing many poses and the object mode as well. They show you the many faces you can get with the figure and some poses you can display it as. On the corner of the box we see the display of the figure in black and white which is a great addition to me as I love the way Bandai does it. As you open the book style box, you can see the 2 window displays on the inside and nothing on the edges. Now let’s look at the package inside.

As we look at the package inside as we see on the left side, we see the plate with the figure itself and most of the phoenix cloth parts. This figure has a total of 8 hands and the figure layout is the same as the black phoenix box if you have that figure. The instruction manual also comes on this side as well. On the right side of the package you have the object mode skeleton and with an extra face, some parts of the cloth and the phoenix wings for the object mode or the character. So let’s put this figure on its object mode.

As you put the figure on its object mode, you can see it is very easy to build just like the black phoenix cloth. Basically they are the same in every way. The only thing that is different from both cloths is the colors and the faces. The object mode is fast to make and looks as great as the black phoenix one. The original colors of phoenix makes this object mode one of the ages and it looks great in so many levels. So let’s go to the figure itself.

As we review the figure, the figure has the same range of motion as of the black phoenix. When you put the cloth on the figure this figure is one of the best ones. The colors look the same as the anime, the figure is great sculpted, and the face is made to perfection. As you look at the figure, it looks like the exact replica of the character itself. They also included a hair piece to the figure that goes under the helmet for it to show on the front covering his eyes. This is a new edition to the figure because the black phoenix did not have this on that character. It is somewhat difficult in the start to put that piece on the helmet, but after a couple of times the figure is easier to close on the helmet. Overall as with the black phoenix this figure gets a perfect 10. There was one issue with the cloth and that it lays on the waist. It is a very loose part. Maybe they wanted to fix the parts popping of on the black phoenix with a bit of a loose skirt on this one. But it’s nothing major, if you take care of this figure and don’t play with it, the waist will be fine.

Overall this figure is one for the ages. The sculpture and articulation is great, the hair of the figure is made to perfection, and they captured the colors of this cloth 100%. I totally recommend this one to any saint seiya collector, and to the hardcore collectors this is a definite must buy.

I want to thank ishop2go for letting me review this figure and remember… GO OUT AND BUY IT!!!
