Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Sea Horse Baian Review

Sea Horse Baia
Sea Horse Baia
Sea Horse Baia

As one of the generals of Poseidon, sea horse Baian is one of the most overlooked characters in the myth cloth line. Most people go for the figures like Scylla and Siren for their collection but Sea horse is an excellent figure as I will assure you. It has the best sculpt I have seen on some figures so far and the likeness to the character is tremendous. But as we talk about the figure, just think about the good things of why this figure belongs in your collection and not a negative opinion about the character.

The box is a standard marine green in color as the Poseidon saga boxes are with the standard picture of the animated from of Baian and the picture of the figure is on the front of the box. This is a book style kind of package as always and on the side it says Saint Cloth myth and on the bottom it says sea horse scale with an outline of the object mode on the side. On the back of the box it shows you the standard features that come on the box which are a picture of the figure on one of his signature moves, the characters swappable faces, and the picture of the object mode itself. The inside of the box we see on the sides it says General on the top, and Baian on the bottom. Inside the box we have a standard layout of the box, on the left side we have the figure itself, with its extra faces and most of his cloth parts, and on the right side we have the object mode skeleton and the rest of the cloth parts, with the extra hands this figure comes with. The manual is very easy to follow, it is color coded and it shows you how to do the figure itself and the object mode as well. It also provides you with the info of the figure, and some promotional stuff of other figures you can buy. But now its time to see the object and figure mode.

The object mode is very easy to make. It has great balance and almost all the parts are assembled well on the object mode. I have not seen on imperfections on the object mode and everything balances right. The figure’s object mode has the ability to swap wings as they give you 2 sets of wings for the object mode, some are small and the other one is big. This part of the object mode wings comes more intro play with the figure itself. But overall the object mode is perfect and I will give it a solid 10.

The figure is easy to make. Here you have the option of 3 things, you can put the blue cape on him, or the big wings, or the small wings. With the came it looks great, but if you want to put him on action poses, the small wings are the way to go. Both wing sets don’t affect the balance of the figure which is a plus in my book. The metal parts on this figure are all the arms, the chest, parts of the skirt, the legs, and the feet are die cast metal. Plastic parts are the face piece, the shoulders, the waist, and the wings. As you can see it’s a great balance of die cast with plastic as most saint seiya figures are. You also see the swappable faces it comes with. One is an action pose face with him weaseling pose, and the other is his normal face. I went with his normal face just to display him on my shelves but you can see the great amount of value this brings if you make dioramas. Some problems you will run in is that if you use the big wings, the extension of the long hair will not fit will and will tip the head forward, so that’s why I opted for the small wings. The face sculpture is fantastic and the articulation on this figure is great. The amount of color and detail is made to perfection and this figure is one of the well-made figures of the Poseidon line in my opinion. Most of the figures of this like are fantastic, but this figure is one of a kind. Overall this figure is a fantastic figure and I give it a 9 out of 10.

From the amount of detail on the cloth, to the perfect object mode representation and superb sculpture of this figure, you can’t go wrong with picking this figure up. It will be a great addition to any saint seiya fan and hardcore fans alike. Overall I totally recommend you getting this figure and you will be happy with your purchase.
