Tamashii Nation Limite Steel Saint Sho Review

Saint Seiya Steel Saint Sho

Saint Seiya Steel Saint Sho

Looking at the series since the 1980’s most people remember the first time the steel saints came to the show. Most people know him as a steel saint, some as shock 1, and some just know him as Sho. There design was unique and in the story, they were hand made by Saori’s grandfather, but none the less people love this character, even if it only came out for 5 episodes. Now Bandai has made this figure after so many long years of waiting for a perfected version,
and today we will look more into detail on the steel saint tucan cloth of Sho
As we all expected this tamashii nation exclusive has a solid box. The box is a solid gray and the outline looks tech looking. On the front of the box we see Sho completed and on the side we see the object mode which is a plane. On the side we see there are the words “Saint Cloth Myth” and on the bottom it says Steel Sky Cloth. In the middle of the words we have the object mode which looks more like a jet than a tucan. On the back we have Sho doing some poses and there showing you him with and without the helmet, him grabbing the object mode, and other poses. Like I said before this is a solid package and this opens from the top. So let’s look inside and see what there is.

Inside the package we have 2 plates stacked on top of each other. The first plate has the figure itself, the arms and the feet and the different hands. On the second plate we have the object mode skeleton, the chest and the skirt. In this moment the object mode skeleton looks very big but not difficult to make. Under all the plates we have the instruction manual which is a nice gray techy color. Looking at the instructions we see that the figure is not really complicated to make, and it should be rather simple build. So let’s first make the object mode.

Saint Seiya Steel Saint ShoAs we make the object mode, every part of the cloth is used which is a great thing. I did notice that the skit does not completely close and the middle part of the skit comes off rather easy when you’re doing the object mode. You should have a lot of caution doing this, because the middle part is plastic and can easily break. The helmet fits great as the cockpit and the armor chest and legs looks great on the figure. Another thing to notice is that the chest is rather loose. It’s not the chest itself but rather the chest cover. It does not snap into place and it’s rather easy to take off. But none the less if you don’t move the object mode, the chest will stay in place. Another nice feature that I noticed is that the object mode has wheels that actually move. You can really use the object mode to play as a jet but I don’t recommend it due to the fact this is rather a pretty penny. So enough with the object mode, let’s see how the figure looks.

Saint Seiya Steel Saint ShoAs soon as you start building you notice the beauty of the figure. The dynamic hair that the figure has and the sculpture of the face is perfect. The attention to detail is great and everything is made to perfection. The body has the white with black stripes which is great representation of the figure in the anime. As you put the face with the helmet the hair wraps around the helmet making it a great dynamic look. The two faces the figure comes with are great and I personally love the screaming one. It gives it more of an expression and passion to the cloth. The emerald or engine red the cloth color is made from is great. It has a very nice look and very nice appeal to the cloth. You can see propellers and turbines all over the figure and that shows you they did pay attention to all the details. The amount of poses you can put this figure are not limited to any range. This figure can bend and flex in many ways. But we still have some problems. The only major flaw this figure has is the same flaw it has on the object mode. The chest falls rather easy and it should not be this problematic for a Tamashii exclusive. When you are trying to pose him some times the chest falls and that could be a problem. And if you damage you cloth middle part on the waist you may have problems putting it on the figure. This piece has specific sizes and if you buffed them out, it’s going to easily fall off. The figure itself is made of equal plastic and metal parts. The helmet, all the skirt, the chest top piece, and the visor are all plastic. The shoulders, inner parts of the chest, arms and legs and feet are all metal.

What can I say about this cloth, it is a great figure. The amount of detail it went to have this figure made to perfection is unreal. From the color, to the sculpture of the face and body, this figure is perfect. We do see some major defects that they should not exist due to the fact this is an exclusive like the chest piece and the skirt front part but if you can look over this flaws and just love the cloth for what its worth you will enjoy this. For me, this cloth is a definite 10+, but be warned this is an exclusive which means it’s harder to get, not impossible, just hard. But overall I do love this cloth and I recommend it to any saint seiya fan out there that loves the series. When we get the next two of the steel saints, which I am very excited to have and review, this collection will look great and in the end it will be worth it!
