Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Sea Dragon Kanon Review

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of my favorite characters has to be Gemini Saga and Kanon. They have been the moving force on the saint seiya universe and the reason there are so many plots on the story. As we hit the Poseidon Saga, they introduced to Sea Dragon Kanon, and man he did not disappoint. Like his brother, he has his own motives, but in all honesty a lot of us when we were little didn’t even know about kanon that much. We wondered because Gemini means twins but then it was confirmed in this saga. And now let’s see the figure and see how this figure turned out.

First and foremost we see the box, as this is a Poseidon saga figure and cause his a General of the sea we see that his box is a marine green. On the front of the box we see it has Sea Dragon Kanon without his helmet but with armor and on the side we see the animated form of the figure but with the helmet. On the side of the box we see that it’s a book style kind of package and it says “Saint Cloth Myth” and on the bottom it says “Sea Dragon Scale” and in the middle we see it has a picture of the object mode on the Sea Dragon. On the back they show you the figure with and without the helmet, the figure doing the golden triangle power and pictures of the object mode. When you open the box you see a standard window box for saint seiya with the sides that say General and on the bottom it says Kanon. The box is great, now it’s time to see the package inside.

As we open the box we have the left side which I call plate A, and the right side which I call plate B. On side A we got most of the figure and most of the cloth parts, we have 5 sets of hands and the figure itself. We also have the instructions and the blue cap on this side for the figure. On side B, if you didn’t know, on this figure you get 2 figures, one with a half black head and the other with prison clothing. On plate B you get the second figure, the clothing, the skeleton for the object mode and some parts like the chest or the skirt for the figure. In the instructions you can see that there is a lot of big parts for this figure, the figure itself it’s not hard to make but the object mode has a bit of instructions but not hard to follow. It also shows you how to put the clothing on the second figure and the knee caps. So now that we are done with the package let’s review the object mode.
When I was doing the object mode there were a lot of things I was not sure about, cause the instructions don’t explain in full detail what you should be doing. But having years of making saint seiya I could figure it out really easy. There are a lot a lot of chunky parts on the object mode and it’s not hard to do. A lot of the body is made up of one solid plastic chrome part but the rest is composed of the cloth. You use most of the cloth to do the object mode which is a great thing in my eyes. Picking it up I would say it’s a very solid figure, a bit heavy due to a lot of die cast metal parts. The engineering of the figure its great and the figure looks out of this world. The great color it has with the 3 shades of gold it has makes it a great object mode. Some people may not agree but on object mode wise I give this a solid 9. It is a well-made object mode and it well deserves the rating. And now we go to the 2 figures.
As we look at both figures we see the main figure has a solid half black face with no hair. This is intended to just put the helmet over him and hide his eyes which are a nice touch by Bandai. The second figure has the solid figure with his hair, a blue body with laced feet, and no die cast metal on the feel and bandaged fists, meaning this is what Kanon is wearing when he is in prison with no armor. So let’s review the figure with the blue body. Overall the representation they were trying to do there is great. The figure is very show accurate and the clothing fits like a glove. The figure has great set of motion and very nice articulation. The bad part is that because he has no die cast metal feet, he has weight issues on the head. The head has a lot of hair and it’s hard to balance, but once you have him on a position it’s great. Now to see the main figure! Now the main figure is amazing, the cloth has great color and the helmet looks great on half black and half human like the anime. The parts of the arms and waist fit great and the legs are no exception. But there are 2 major flaws for this figure. First is that the chest part and the skirt are all connected together, but why do I say it’s bad, well the chest is very loose on the figure and moves a lot. You grab the figure from the chest and the whole figure moves. It is not as tight as other figures so you have to be careful. Second is the hair, when you are seeing the figure on armor mode with all his cloth together on the anime you see he has long hair on the back. Well you try to put the hair on the back and the figure has a hard time sustaining it. The hair does not stay or displaces the head. That is one major flaw show accurate collectors will not pass on, but on sculpture wise and this entire figure is great.
For this figure the sculpture and figure design is great, one major flaw I saw is that they did the armor 2 big for the figure, and the hair is a major problem for a lot of collectors. The extra figure is a nice touch and kind of makes it up for the lack or problems this figure has. Buying this figure you get 2 for the price of one, and you can’t beat that. Overall this figure gets a solid 9. If they would have addressed the looseness of the figures cloth, it would have been a perfect 10. The sculpture and detail is great, cloth is made to perfection, too bad it’s very loose. But do I recommend this product? Absolutely! If you’re a saint seiya fan and love this cloth this is a definite pick up. If you are just staring collection, I really don’t recommend this figure only if you have a lot of love for the character. Saint Seiya is a great line on myth cloth, but if you can pass this imperfection, you will enjoy this figure.

Tamashii Nation Limite Steel Saint Sho Review

Looking at the series since the 1980’s most people remember the first time the steel saints came to the show. Most people know him as a steel saint, some as shock 1, and some just know him as Sho. There design was unique and in the story, they were hand made by Saori’s grandfather, but none the less people love this character, even if it only came out for 5 episodes. Now Bandai has made this figure after so many long years of waiting for a perfected version,
and today we will look more into detail on the steel saint tucan cloth of Sho
As we all expected this tamashii nation exclusive has a solid box. The box is a solid gray and the outline looks tech looking. On the front of the box we see Sho completed and on the side we see the object mode which is a plane. On the side we see there are the words “Saint Cloth Myth” and on the bottom it says Steel Sky Cloth. In the middle of the words we have the object mode which looks more like a jet than a tucan. On the back we have Sho doing some poses and there showing you him with and without the helmet, him grabbing the object mode, and other poses. Like I said before this is a solid package and this opens from the top. So let’s look inside and see what there is.
Inside the package we have 2 plates stacked on top of each other. The first plate has the figure itself, the arms and the feet and the different hands. On the second plate we have the object mode skeleton, the chest and the skirt. In this moment the object mode skeleton looks very big but not difficult to make. Under all the plates we have the instruction manual which is a nice gray techy color. Looking at the instructions we see that the figure is not really complicated to make, and it should be rather simple build. So let’s first make the object mode.
As we make the object mode, every part of the cloth is used which is a great thing. I did notice that the skit does not completely close and the middle part of the skit comes off rather easy when you’re doing the object mode. You should have a lot of caution doing this, because the middle part is plastic and can easily break. The helmet fits great as the cockpit and the armor chest and legs looks great on the figure. Another thing to notice is that the chest is rather loose. It’s not the chest itself but rather the chest cover. It does not snap into place and it’s rather easy to take off. But none the less if you don’t move the object mode, the chest will stay in place. Another nice feature that I noticed is that the object mode has wheels that actually move. You can really use the object mode to play as a jet but I don’t recommend it due to the fact this is rather a pretty penny. So enough with the object mode, let’s see how the figure looks.
As soon as you start building you notice the beauty of the figure. The dynamic hair that the figure has and the sculpture of the face is perfect. The attention to detail is great and everything is made to perfection. The body has the white with black stripes which is great representation of the figure in the anime. As you put the face with the helmet the hair wraps around the helmet making it a great dynamic look. The two faces the figure comes with are great and I personally love the screaming one. It gives it more of an expression and passion to the cloth. The emerald or engine red the cloth color is made from is great. It has a very nice look and very nice appeal to the cloth. You can see propellers and turbines all over the figure and that shows you they did pay attention to all the details. The amount of poses you can put this figure are not limited to any range. This figure can bend and flex in many ways. But we still have some problems. The only major flaw this figure has is the same flaw it has on the object mode. The chest falls rather easy and it should not be this problematic for a Tamashii exclusive. When you are trying to pose him some times the chest falls and that could be a problem. And if you damage you cloth middle part on the waist you may have problems putting it on the figure. This piece has specific sizes and if you buffed them out, it’s going to easily fall off. The figure itself is made of equal plastic and metal parts. The helmet, all the skirt, the chest top piece, and the visor are all plastic. The shoulders, inner parts of the chest, arms and legs and feet are all metal. What can I say about this cloth, it is a great figure. The amount of detail it went to have this figure made to perfection is unreal. From the color, to the sculpture of the face and body, this figure is perfect. We do see some major defects that they should not exist due to the fact this is an exclusive like the chest piece and the skirt front part but if you can look over this flaws and just love the cloth for what its worth you will enjoy this. For me, this cloth is a definite 10+, but be warned this is an exclusive which means it’s harder to get, not impossible, just hard. But overall I do love this cloth and I recommend it to any saint seiya fan out there that loves the series. When we get the next two of the steel saints, which I am very excited to have and review, this collection will look great and in the end it will be worth it!

Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Cancer Deathmask Review
As the most hated or the coolest character in the series, Cancer Deathmask has become an icon of evil in the saint seiya universe. I remember him since I was a child and I really never liked him as a character, but as a cloth for collection is another different story. Bandai made most of the gold saints in the year 2004 to 2006 in the hope to reopen the saint seiya market, and it did with great success, but with the money they were charging for the figures, the people wanted quality on the figures which the figures of 2004 and 2005 did not provide. Cancer Deathmask was made in 2005 but his one of the better looking cloths for that year.
So starting with the box we see it’s the same book style kind of package with a gold box. The figure is displayed completed in the front with an animated form of Cancer Deathmask in the front as well. We have the Bandai logo on the front with the Toei sticker in some packages. On the side of the box we see it says “Saint Cloth Myth” and on the bottom it Says “Cancer Cloth” and the zodiac sign of cancer in the middle. In the back of the box it’s a simple plain cloth with cancer doing a power on Death Valley, we have pictures of Cancer with and without his headpiece on and different poses he can be in. As you open the box you see the standard layout of the window package, figure on the left, object on the right, on the border of the box you also see it says “Gold Saint” on the top and “Deathmask” on the bottom. So let’s review the package inside for a closer look.As we see the package inside we see on side A we have the cape, the instructions and plate A with the figure and most of his cloth parts, it has most of his hands and even and extra pointing hand for he can be posed doing his power. On the right side or side B we have most of the object mode skeleton. As a 2005 cloth this figure is very simple to make, there are not a lot of parts on the cloth and the build looks very easy. As you look in the instruction manual you see that there are very few instructions on how to build it, sometimes even too little to know what you are doing. Luckily I have done so many myth cloths that I already know the process and the manual is just a bonus. What I really need the manual for is the object mode. The object mode is a bit weird with cancer but let’s see when we put him together.
As I put the object mode together, one thing I did notice is that the legs of the object mode have to pop inwards in the skeleton, this process is not said by the instruction manual but it is important to finish the object mode itself, but after you finish doing that the build is easy. The object mode is very well made and very solid. When you pick it up you can see it is very heavy but very well made. Not like other 2004 or 2005 cloths this figure most of the parts of the object mode due cover the skeleton, the only parts of the skeleton that there is no myth cloth parts is the back legs of cancer, but you have to pay very close attention for that detail. So the object mode I give it a perfect 9 out of 10. So let’s go build the figure itself and see how this cloth is different from the rest.
As we build the figure, you can see this figure is very different from the rest. The cloth is a bit slimmer and very close to the body compared to other cloths on that year, the face is a bit better made but not close enough, the thing you can see right away that it’s a 2005 cloth is his neck. The neck looks horrible with a V shape on it, this is one of the distinctive features that you can see on the old cloths, the very bad neck they have and the face sculpt sometimes they are very big. This face is ok, still does not look like the surplice cancer but its ok. The cloth is a different story, very well made, very slim, and very true to the figure itself. From the shoulders to the feet, the cloth itself looks perfect. The face piece, shoulders, and the extra chest part are the only plastic parts on the cloth with the waist included as always. The legs due have 2 sharp die cast metal points that are very sharp, so you may want to warn you kids about that issue if you are buying it for them.
Overall the cloth is great, the object mode is superb and the figure is not that bad for a 2005 figure. The neck and the face are a bit off on this figure but this figure is one of the best made in this year. Maybe in the near future we will see an appendix made for this figure but maybe not, because we have not even seen a prototype of the appendix. But even if the figure does not get one, I’m still happy with all the features it comes with. Overall the figure itself gets a score of 8 out of 10, which in my part is way better than other cloths on that year had. But if you are thinking of getting this cloth, you will be very happy you got it, I know I did for sure, even if it’s an old model.
I want to thank ishop2go for letting me review this great figure once again and remember guys… GO OUT AND BUY IT!!
